Social Procurement and Renewables Webinar

Social procurement obligations pioneered in traditional construction are increasingly surfacing in renewable energy projects as a matter of social licence. Now wind, solar, storage and transmission developments are being expected to demonstrate the same community and workforce outcomes as traditional infrastructure.

In the spirit of Social Procurement Week, SocialPro is hosting an online panel bringing together practitioners who have delivered social procurement outcomes across both sectors.

The discussion will cover how existing policy frameworks and requirements, including the Victorian Local Jobs First Policy, Victorian Social Procurement Framework and Building Equality Policy, are being applied to renewables; where practice carries over from traditional construction and where it genuinely differs; whether the renewables supply chain currently has the capability to meet obligations at scale; and how organisations are approaching reporting and compliance as investment in the sector grows.
