MAV Procurement Supplier Webinar: Social Procurement in Local Government and Putting It into Practice
MAV Procurement has partnered with Social Procurement Australasia and the Social Procurement Network to deliver this practical webinar to support MAV Procurement suppliers and prospective suppliers to better understand social procurement and the growing opportunities to create greater value for local government and communities.
This webinar will explore what social procurement means for businesses, why it is becoming increasingly important to councils and other public sector organisations, and how suppliers can take practical steps to strengthen their approach.
Across local government, procurement is increasingly being used to create value beyond the goods and services being purchased. This can include supporting local employment and businesses, creating inclusive employment opportunities, engaging First Nations businesses and social enterprises, strengthening communities and improving environmental outcomes.
For suppliers, this presents an opportunity to better understand what customers are looking for and demonstrate the positive impact their business can deliver. Social procurement doesn't need to involve complex strategies or significant investment, many businesses are already creating social value through their workforce, supply chains, purchasing decisions and community involvement.
The webinar will explore practical and achievable initiatives businesses of all sizes can implement or build on, what councils are increasingly looking for from suppliers, and how to measure, evidence and communicate the social value your business creates.
